Joy Oco

Spa Owner

Joy moved to Canada from Manila in 2003. At the time, she was a licensed Civil Engineer in Manila and ended up working for a small construction company in Edmonton in 2005. Her role in this company was extensive and exposed her in all operations of the business. Joy’s transition from the construction world to the health and beauty industry started in 2018, when her partner passed away from cancer.

Overwhelmed with grief, she was looking for a place to de-stress and recharge without having to leave the city. She couldn’t find a place that resembled what she had in mind and that’s when the idea of starting her own luxury spa began. Every day, her passion for a unique spa slowly grew. She wanted the spa to have a focus on self-care and indulgence simultaneously. Eventually, she took a giant leap of faith. 4 years after that devastating time in her life, she is finally able to share her vision with the Edmonton community! Wellness is such a significant part of everybody’s lives, and she is honoured to be a part of an industry that supports it.

Melony Khuu

Melony has been working in beauty and health for the past 5 years. She is dedicated to providing a welcoming and relaxing experience for every single guest. She also loves to geek out about all things skincare.

When not at the spa, Maxine enjoys spending time with her dog or staying active! She smiles every time she meets a new guest at the spa and is excited to help everyone have a relaxing spa day!

Breanne Bacani

Breanne just received her iron ring as a Materials Engineer! She will be starting her Master’s Degree in the fall at the University of Alberta. When she’s not studying, you can usually find her working on her art and in local markets around the city!

Shelby Wingrove

Shelby — like the ford mustang, graduated from the National Institute of Aesthetics in 2012. Growing up, her mom was a hairstylist - so she has been around the beauty industry her whole life. She has always been passionate about health & wellness and of course beauty. When she’s not treating clients at the spa you can catch her hanging out with her frenchie Frankie or reading the newest book on the shelves and of course — the gym. She looks forward to making you feel your best at The Spa at Ambleside.

Sheridan Lockhart

Sheridan has been in the industry for over 10 years. She took Spa Management & Esthetics at Humber College in Toronto and finished with honours. She worked at the spa in Fairmont Lake Louise for 3 years. Her specialty is skin care and product knowledge. Her goal is to offer deep relaxation, share her knowledge about skin care and boost people’s confidence in their own skin. Her extensive knowledge of ingredients and treatments allows her to tailor personalized solutions for each individual, ensuring optimal results and guest satisfaction.

Christine Sabo

Christine graduated from International Academy of Esthetics in 2018 and has been doing traditional and medical esthetics in a luxury spa since! She strives to make each and everyone of her guests feel comfortable and relaxed in every service she offers. She has had a passion for caring for people and the love for the beauty industry at a very young age, and she can’t wait to spoil you when you see her! When she is not working at the spa, she is enjoying time with her family and friends, walking her dog, Freddie, or going to the movies with her husband.

Haley Oatway

Haley has a passion for helping people feel their best! This led her to pursue a career in massage therapy and help people take care of themselves, body and mind. After graduating from the Alberta College of Massage Therapy in January of 2022, she practiced in the community of Grand Cache before relocating to Edmonton. She has experience working with clients of all ages and requirements, using a combination of relaxation, deep tissue and therapeutic techniques to meet their goals. Haley is also a Reiki Practitioner of the Second Degree.
